Visual specifications

Updated on 20.10.2026

The CAP Explorer checks files on upload. If a file does not meet the requirements, an error message appears, for example «File size exceeds the limit of 50 MB».

Two values are often mixed up: the length of the video is the duration of the file in seconds. The playout period is the span from the start date to the end date in which the visual plays.

An independent study in the Journal of Marketing (2025) analyzed 237 campaigns on C.A.P. screens. Researchers from VU Amsterdam and Babson College did the analysis, Cyreen only provided the data. This gives these learnings for your visual:

LearningWhat the study shows
Do not look like promotional advertisingVisuals with a promotional signal, for example a price or discount in the foreground, work less well. An actual price reduction does not change the effect.
Show new productsProducts that are new to the range benefit most from the advertising.
Appeal to enjoymentProducts bought for enjoyment respond more strongly to the advertising than purely functional products.
Plan for the time of dayThe advertising works best in the morning and least around midday.

The results apply on average across many campaigns, not to every single one.
